Introducing Sekisui Pacific Rim
Located at 4724 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, Sekisui Pacific Rim offers an exceptional dining experience that melds the rich flavors of Japan with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This neighborhood gem specializes in sushi but is much more than just a sushi bar. With a diverse menu that caters to all palates—including numerous vegetarian options—this establishment truly has something for everyone.
Patrons of Sekisui Pacific Rim rave about the quality of the sushi. As one customer pointed out, the sashimi and nigiri are exceptionally fresh, free of the usual fishy taste, setting the restaurant apart from competitors. The menu offers a wide selection, allowing you to customize your rolls to suit your tastes—something that both sushi aficionados and novices can appreciate.
On a recent visit, I indulged in the house ginger salad and was struck by its vibrant flavors; it truly lives up to the hype. The Miso Soup was piping hot, a comforting start to the meal. Watching the sushi chefs expertly prepare each dish from the sushi bar added a layer of excitement to my experience. Each cut of fish was presented beautifully, and the quality was undoubtedly top-notch.
Another highlight was the spicy scallop mayo handroll, which balanced heat and flavor flawlessly. Their drinks, including the infamous lychee martini, delight with unique tastes—though some guests have remarked that it tastes more akin to champagne. Still, it complements the meal beautifully.
Beyond the food, the service at Sekisui is outstanding. As several reviews prove, patrons have been treated to attentive and friendly service that enhances the overall ambiance. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply satisfying a sushi craving, Sekisui Pacific Rim is an experience you won't want to miss.
In conclusion, for anyone in Memphis seeking authentic Japanese cuisine in a relaxed setting, Sekisui Pacific Rim is a must-visit destination. Come for the sushi, stay for the atmosphere, and leave with a memory of a truly delightful dining experience.
“ Came in during Valentine's night with a party of 6, service was fantastic. It did take over 30-45mins for our main dishes to come out but we had drinks and were still working through our appetizers so it wasn't a big problem. Their lychee martini tasted more like champagne than lychee. My clear soup and cucumber salad was amazing. My sashimi and nigiri plate was fresh and wasn't fishy at all. Also ordered a spicy scallop mayo in a handroll instead of nigiri and it was delicious. Definitely would recommend making a reservation on holiday nights. ”
“ Love Sekisui! Honestly the best sushi in the Memphis area. Great atmosphere and really great quality sushi for the price. The servers are always very attentive. Good idea to secure a reservation before you go! Its often busy. ”
“ As you all know ya boy loves the sushi so much so that I pretty much only eat that since July and at this point I'm pretty much a walking land dolphin; and I identify as such you know I have unique perspective in being as one would say "be part of your world". I came into to Memphis on a cold and rainy winters night needing to fill the void in my stomach that one gets when doing IF (if you're not in the know that's intermittent fasting for you non initiated) and once my time to feed approach's I become ravenous for fish as if I'm Bruce the shark from finding Nemo off the wagon. I choose to sit at the sushi bar because 1. I'm not a dick and would rather give the restaurant the tables for bigger parties and 2. It's like getting a show and if you're lucky you get a talkative sushi chefs. I sat down and cracked open the menu to find a great selection of fish I had a few rounds of some great cuts and was lucky enough to get the last Uni the presentation over all was stellar and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly (one was so pretty I felt that maybe I was on a hidden camera show because there is no way someone that beautiful is being a waitress and simply not some kind of super model that some baseball player or one of Taylor Swift ex-boyfriends isn't dating, but I digress) I did leave my AirPods there and the staff did contact me to come back which speaks volumes of the kind of people that work here So if you want a real sushi experience that the star of their menu isn't a "shaggy dog" and want to actually enjoy sushi properly then come out check them out; def worth an hour drive ”
“ Last Friday, we did date-night at Sekisui Pacific Rim. As usual, the food was delicious and the service was superb! We enjoyed Miso Soup, Seafood and Veggie Tempura, Customized Sushi Rolls (Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna); along with two glasses of Fume Blanc and a Japanese Beer. Rachael, our Server was delightful (warm, friendly and professional. This restaurant is our go-to for sushi in Memphis. It is a TRUE Neighborhood Gem with a strong following of locals dinning-in or picking up Take-Out. also, their prices are very reasonable. ”
“ Wowwwww let's just say you have to start with their house ginger salad!!! Best ginger salad in memphis! It was really popping tonight. I had a solo dinner so I was seated at the sushi bar. It had great lighting and it was nice watching the chefs make the sushi. I got the gyzoa , miso soup and salad to start! All was delicious!! What ever that dipping sauce is that comes with the gyzoa it was soooo good!! 10/10! The soup was pipping hot which I loved!! I hate Luke warm soup. My sushi was okay. It was def fresh but I could've gotten a better roll. The menu is soo big kinda overwhelming when ordering but I bet it's better rolls on there. I will be back to try more ”
“ I sat at the sushi bar and order the hot piece of tail and poplar roll. Both had amazing flavor and would recommend. They were busy but well serviced. They had more like club music at the bar but I enjoyed it. Apparently for Halloween they are going to have DJ and a party. ”

“ Sekisui Pacific Rim is an east Memphis sushi scene, from the food to the ambiance to the service! FOOD I can't help but rave about their Redbirds Roll - it's my absolute favorite for 18 years now. It's a meal all in itself. Imagine a California roll with crispy crab inside and cooked shrimp on the top. I also like that is pays homage to our baseball team, the Memphis Redbirds. And the Cucumber Rolls? The freshness and flavor burst in your mouth, truly a refreshing treat, and you feel very light after eating it. Oh, and don't forget have some green tea; it's the ideal way to round off a fantastic dining experience and help you digest the meal. It's not just the food that makes this place special; Sekisui Pacific Rim goes the extra mile by using eco-friendly paper straws, demonstrating their commitment to the environment and, of course, saving those adorable turtles. AMBIANCE The ambiance at Sekisui Pacific Rim is hip and chic. In the back of the restaurant, they have an aquarium that serves as mood lighting along with a massive art centerpiece that adds to the overall charm. The art features throughout the restaurant really set the mood for a unique dining experience. When it comes to the seating arrangement, their artsy tables and layout also contribute to the cool and contemporary atmosphere. And if you're looking for a more intimate experience, I highly recommend the cozy sushi bar off to the side - it's the perfect spot to watch the talented chefs work their magic. SERVICE The staff makes everyone feel like they're at home. I love them and they love people and understand true customer service! If you like sushi, it's a great date place, a place for a small friend group or even a work meeting. ”
